Decoding Disease.
Just Another Day
at the Beach.

Sometimes the smallest things can have the biggest impact on human life.

At UC San Diego's Tata Institute for Genetics and Society, we're using "active genetics" to tackle some of the world's deadliest diseases.

Like when we discovered that one tiny edit to a mosquito's DNA could immunize the insect from malaria...

...giving us the potential to eradicate the disease
and save millions of lives around the world.

We hope to use this technology to improve agriculture and public health for generations to come.

Because that's our purpose here at UC San Diego. To make the world a better place.

We collaborate with brilliant minds around the globe to give our students the space to tackle some of the world's biggest problems.

There's only one question left.
What will you do here?
