At UC San Diego, we attract students who want to change the world.
Or design worlds of their own, like Paloma Young.
Just a few years after Paloma earned her MFA in costume design, she achieved one of Broadway's ultimate honors: a Tony Award.
Though Broadway is the place for dreamers, to get there takes hard work and a deep dedication to your craft.
Before any project, Paloma does research to immerse herself in the story and its period.
She builds collages, listens to music, and scours flea markets, museums and photography archives for inspiration to bring her world to life.
It allows our students to experiment and grow under the attentive gaze of our renowned faculty - while showcasing their creations to a national audience.
At UC San Diego, we're pioneering more than just science and engineering.
We are visionaries who push boundaries and create worlds that don't yet exist.
